The purpose of this communication is to announce that VA posted an update to VA Pamphlet 26-7, Chapter 12, Minimum Property Requirement Overview. Five minimum property requirements were deemed unnecessary and have been eliminated.



Purpose: VA is publishing this update to inform and clarify:

• Topic 1, Subtopics g and i, Detached Improvements and SAH RLC Jurisdiction, have been removed.
• Topic 23, Subtopic b, Non-Vented Heater, has been removed.
• Topic 32, Subtopic a, Properties Built in 1978 or later, has been condensed.
• Topic 32, Subtopic b, Properties Built Before 1978, phrase “or related improvements,” has been removed.
• Topic 34, Radon Gas, has been removed in its entirety.

The changes will become effective for all VA appraisals ordered after May 1, 2026. The updates are available at:

I am getting a few liquidation from them. Scares me a little. I hate it when a veteran loses their home. VA hates it too. We have a VA hospital locally and they can get care there. If they lose their home, it is not because of healthcare expenses.

Many people take bankruptcy because of healthcare expenses. If you are a qualified veteran, you can get healthcare in Memphis VA hospital.
