Very Slow On Microsoft Edge - Can't Login

I normally use Microsoft Edge for my browser and like many others get logged out constantly. This morning though after clicking on the first thread and getting logged out I was unable to log back in. I tried closing my browser but every time I came to the homepage and clicked login it basically slowed to a stop and wouldn't let me type in my username and password. It felt like the ads were still loading and the site wouldn't let me do anything until that was finished but the ads were taking a very long time to load. Not really thrilled with that new overlay ad on the bottom of the screen but hey, you gotta pay the bills somehow.

I did briefly get an error about DOS on a blank white screen but it quickly disappeared so I didn't get a chance to really read it.

I switched over to Chrome and was able to login fine.

Now I just had Chrome slow down a lot as I was typing a reply. My typing was lagging by several seconds and it kept saying it was loading (presumably an ad) up at the top of the tab and the bottom of the page but I finally just closed the tab and opened a new one and it worked fine.

Works great for me, sorry I can't be of more help, everyone's system is different, so it is impossible to tell what might be slowing you down. There are many threads in this Help forum, read through them and try some of the suggestions.

Just re-read your post and noticed that you said your "typing was lagging by several seconds". This is definitely something on your computer working in the background to cause that. Do a control-alt-delete and select task manager and sort by CPU use and it will tell you what is using most of your computer resources.

I have been using computers for 30 years, in high school i was the computer lab assistant, and have taken hands on college courses for computer networking and administration. what im trying to say is i know my way around a pc.

I have noticed recently, like maybe a week or two, basically every since the new lower popup ad banner and the ads started playing audio, appraisers forum continually loads and causes the browser to slow down.

I keep the operating system clean and up to date, regularly run system cleaners and antivirus scans, and have installed the maximum ram and upgraded the graphics card. i know what extensions the browser uses and i use custom browser settings.

This behavior doesn't happen unless i have appraisers forum open.

Appraisers forum causes firefox to use a very large amount of system resources causing it slow down.

the first screen shot is task manager with google open, notice the amount of memory firefox uses.

the second screen shot is task manager with appraisers forum open. resource hog. look at the difference. there is something going on with the site and im almost certain its the ads.

I don't doubt that the ads slow down loading.

But like you with your appraisal business, I don't work for free. Like you I invest my time and money in this endeavor.
