Got a collect call on my business line yesterday. The caller was a male voice using a 3 letter business name (don't remember the letters) stating he needed to verify an address. The recorded operator gives you 3 options:
Touch 1 to find out the charges applicable. Get this, $ 1.71 per minute with a 3 minute minimum. Then there is a $7 fee of some sort, an $8 fee of some sort, and 'if you are not a subscriber to this service (what service???), there will be an additional $3.00 charge. Hmm, sounds like about $25.00. Yikes! 8O :evil:
Touch 2 to accept. NOOO! Don't do it!
Touch 3 to deny the charges.
The number shows up on my caller ID as 504-467-7230. I try to call back, always busy. Reverse look up turns up a Leandrew Thomas in a suburb of New Orleans. Personal number evidently.
