I am setting in my motel room in Ottumwa watching the snow blowing around. I would hate to be out measuring a house here today. I am here visiting family. I appraise in Bakersfield CA. Talked to my wife this mornig at home and it was 60 degrees. Do you charge more in the winter? I lived here for 27 years and couldn't imagine doing an appraisal in this weather. I guess after 9 years in California I have become a fair weather person.

Hey Ken, as long as you are in Ottumwa, give my cousin (by marriage) a holler. HIs name is Mike Gowdy and he lives over on Dahlonega Rd.

My wife and I have property just NW of there... it is west of Lovilia about 8 miles & NW of Albia about 18 miles).

TEL2002...I am quite fimiliar with Dahlonega Rd and also the Lovilla area. I got out of there as fast as I could. If it was not for my daughters living there and my two grand daughters I would not have gone in February. I got on the plane in Des Moines and it was 16 degrees, got off the plane in L.A. and it was 64 degrees. Any bets on where I want to live?

Ken, I own a house outside of Lovilia and we are in the process of moving to Louisiana. I understand.

I miss Iowa.........I lived there for 18 years.......in college we used to drive from Missouri to Ottumwa to go to the bars. The drinking age in Iowa was 19 at the time.
