I have been told I may be on Wells Fargo's exclusionary list. Anybody know how I can verify this information or whom I may be able to talk to to find out.

The person at Lender or AMC that told you this. Wells does or did do a lot of wholesale Funding for Mortgage Bankers and Correspondents and unless it was a direct order from Wells Fargo thats where its placed and you would not even know you were doing it for Wells Fargo the same with Chase and others. Try hard to get a contact for the Lender AMCs contact on wholesale.

they were not supposed to say anything. Because, I have not worked for Well Fargo directly. They are not required to give me notice. If I am on their list. It explains why all of my mortgage industry work has completely dried up. I would just like to be able to confirm it and get some explanation as to why. In my situation there are two of us with the exact same name appraising in my state (they mix us all the time). Any insights as to how I can find out more information would be appreciated.

Many appraisers are low or dead in the water so the lack of work is probable due to the overall market regardless of what Wells Fargo may have done

Sorry I no longer work for the Lender who funded wholesale Wells Fargo or I would try to get you a contact but unless the Lender you are working for only funds on Wells Fargo or a large percentage through that should not stop other orders from coming to you BUT if they do a lot with Wells Wholesale your kinda screwed.

The biggest problem is Well's and others like Chaser wholesale departments are disconnected from the retail side and so even if you got a hold of Retail they will just bounce you back. It's a real Cluster-F most probably designed -intentionally.

Hire a private detective to get to the bottom of it. Find the person who makes those decisions and get their home address. Show up at their house to get an explanation

Or just take the attitude, if they don't want to work with you, you don't want to work with them. In fact, you probably really don't want to work with them There is a certain beauty in that, - even if you eventually wind up homeless on the street because of that.

The problem is this -We funded on three main lines of wholesale credit, Well Cargo, Flagstar, Chase,. When an appraiser got placed on the do not use list of any of these banks , we quit using that appraiser because we never knew which lender we were going to end up funding through . Initially we may have been going through Chase but say Wells had a better program or fees, funding switched it to Wells and sudddenly we had an appraisal which we could not use. Therefore we decided that anyone who was on do not use list on any of those three lenders would not get orders. If the poor appraiser is working with any Lenders who wholesale with one of those lenders he may stop getting work . It really sucks and is not fair but so far I have never seen anyone get removed from their do not use list, there is really body to help the appraiser. Today some of our largest Mortgage Bankers like Rocket use numerous lines ans so it gets real messy.
