I have a data base, but not sure I am really happy with it. Before I start putting large amounts of information into it here in my new Michigan home I thought maybe there was something better out there.

For my latest assignments I have just put the comparable sales and leases on excel spreadsheets.

Access is a good database and you can customize it to include comp data, photos, etc.

In a previous life, I used DataComp. It seemed to offer me the flexibility I was looking for. Now that WAS five years ago ...

We use DataComp. Works well medium to larger shops.

I have used Datacomp for 10 years now (I think). You can export/import the comps into excel, or other popular formats.

Great product out of the box with a few customizations available. It has a nice interface that is easy.

Regarding DataComp, according to their website, 2005 version is the latest available, correct? Looks like a very nice user interface.

That is the most current. When you subscribe, you get 1 year of updates that are down loadable. The support is very good on the tech side. Also, they have some prebuilt adjustment templates in Excel so you export right from the database into the adjustment grid. I think this is a must for anybody that has a high rate of comp redundancy.

We are big fans of Datacomp around here. Great support and very easy to learn and use.
