As people age they tend to shy away from change so I wanted to start using Bing in Win 11 for its AI in my new pc whereas I was a Firefox guy for many years. I'm glad I did though after a solid day of managing how everything works I love it now especially with built in gpt4/copilot and photo editing in the browser (y)

I'm no Bing fan and thinking of going to firefox on my Win 11 laptop

Chrome and Brave have similar AI features built in. Not sure about Firefox, but the Bing extension is available-

Any browser will allow you to open specific pages on startup so I just have Chatgpt as one of them in Brave. It's easier to log and save responses

I hate that it is always trying to anticipate what I am about to type (it just put in 'say'). I absolutely can type faster than the idiot comment can come up and I find the tab key. I may make more spelling errors than before, but my typing speed is still just as fast as Bing can think.

To disable predictive text in Bing, follow these steps:

  1. Visit bing.com.
  2. Click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) at the upper-right corner of the page.
  3. Select Settings, then click More.
  4. Uncheck the “Search suggestions” option, and click Save

I keep telling ya Bing is great and their home page's algorithm tailors to your specific needs/wants without typical google propaganda or deluge of ads. It also runs videos ad free unlike unwatchable youtube

The best way to disable Bing is to load firefox or some other browser besides chrome. I am loving my new laptop - with firefox - Linux Cinnamin Mint

That was the distro that I started on too.

Youtuber Joe Collins discusses and does tutorials on Linux Mint almost exclusively

Great resource if you want to learn more about your system

I think I am going to start blocking any thread with the letters "A.I." in it. Starting with this one.
:cautious:
