Does anyone else have a problem with Wintotal changing locked items in the report? I input the the client name/FHA for an FHA appraisal and its there for awhile and when I go back to it it disappears. I lock the field from transfers and input the client name/FHA again, do a few things in the report and go back to a page and its gone again, back to just the client name. It does this with many things in my report, like the basement square footage or the garage count. Anyone know of a remedy?

Yes, I'm afraid it's not just your computer or mine.

My biggest problem right now is the software automatically transferring old file addresses in to replace the subject property address of a cloned file! How embarrassing to get a call from a client that you have the wrong subject address on the report. This has happened to me more than once and I am really getting annoyed at it. Alamode couldn't solve the issue through a software fix, instead they told me I need to delete the old address in a very specific way (Ctrl+F9 or some other key). I guess the "Delete" function is too complex for the software to understand. Why can't they just leave a thing alone when it's not broken.

Another issue I have noticed is that the software creates its own locked/protected fields even though you have not specified to do this. Very irritating.

I haven't used Wintotal software in some time now, but that was a problem for me in the past. I never upgraded beyond Athena, but it was frustrating when "locked" fields would re-populate with different info.

Sorry to see they haven't taken care of that.

It is especially a problem if you add rent or listing forms. Something about the fields goes all wonky and scrambles the entries for things like garages, porches and pools.

I've just learned to double check those items even after I lock and custom populate the fields.

Mutyger,

I have not heard of your problem. However, if you will PM me with as specific the steps as possible, I will forward to Alamode. I am a beta tester and will see what can be done. However, are you using Aurora or Athena version? That will make a difference. I am not sure what help I can offer if you are using Athena.

Doug,
Are you on Aurora or Athena? If you are on Aurora, don't clone old reports! The clone will override the data you put in from the order powerview. If you use the merge function, it lets what you enter into the order powerview take priority.

I rarely use locked fields, so I am not sure I can address that.

I along with some other appraisers I know that use Wintotal, have the same problem in the same areas that you have. The below grade section of the subject and the garage count of the subject are the most common in my program. I just make sure to lock the grid section after I place in info and check it again before I send it.

turn off automatic transfers and it will not happen. but then that can be a problem

Wintotal discourages the use of the clone function for an appraisal report. They recommend the use of the merge function.
