New zoning regulations effective 09/06/2016. Replaces current zoning code adopted in 1958.

Some of the first observations are that R-4 and R-5 zones are being replaced with RF and RA zones. C zones are being replaced with D and MU zones. Overlay districts are getting their own zoning codes. A lot of changes.

Sec 305

PENALTIES
305.1 As provided in § 10 of the Zoning Act, the owner or person in charge of or
maintaining
any building or land, or any other person who erects, constructs,
reconstructs, alters, converts, maintains, or uses
any building or structure, or part
of a building or structure, or land in violation of the provisions of this title shall,
upon conviction for that violation, be punished by a fine of not more than one
hundred dollars ($100) per day for each and every day the violation continues.

305.2
The Office of the Attorney General of the District of Columbia, or any
neighboring property owner or occupant
who would be specially damaged by any
violation of this title, may, in addition to all other remedies provided by law, institute injunction or other appropriate action or proceedings to prevent the
unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, conversion, maintenance, or use; or to correct or abate a violation; or to prevent the occupancy
of the buildings, structure, or land.
