I just finished my 4 hr "required" class. They ran out of topics or information after 2 hours and the remainder was all USPAP. NYS still states 28 hours every 24 months, then gives you the opportunity to pay them $ 330. just to keep working.

Why are you livid....

(1) Forced DEI bull biscuits. Avoidance of bias is baked into USPAP. I'd suspect the evidence of bias is at a very low level, but a couple bad actors penalize all. Show me stats to prove me wrong.
(2) SEVEN hours?!?! Insane.
(3) More time spent on courses that we repeat every single cycle leave less time to hone our craft.

The industry needs more mandatory education to eliminate bias. I get misgendered here on a daily basis. I'm considering identifying and transitioning into a Fannie Mae property data collector and identifying as its first hermaphrodite masochist collector. But you are predicting a future where we all are part-timers... And, frankly at $20-30 an hour for CE plus free classes with some E&O, etc. 50 hours is just $1,000-1,500, about the same as software and E & O.
