Undecided if the purpose of this thread was for you to sell something or to win an internet argument for the day. Condescending thread title could support the latter as I don't think it would help make a sale.A professional website absolutely does matter as does a web presence. It's 2025; I'm 100% correct on this stance.
No, sorry. You can show up in google search without website. Maybe helpful to some, though. This probably depends on your niche in the market you serve.A website is necessary for private work. People google things like "divorce appraiser near me". If you don't show up in the top ten and your competitor does, they get the gig. Ditto for investors, lawyers, estate - all of them search.
I think a more significant benefit of appraisal websites I've observed are those that answer a variety of FAQs that you could direct new clients to, rather than waste time answering the same basic questions on the phone each time. Same with "Appraisal Request" fields that get a potential customer to fill in some basic details to have a conversation later about. Sometimes, though, the initial inquiry calls are so brief (with them calling every listing in the virtual phone book) with minimal info given that I think filling out the forms may deter some folks until they conversate and you can build a little trust with them. That has probably secured more jobs than my snakeoilappraiser69@yahoo.com email address, anyways.
