Correction: The second choice should be $300 to $400

How about instead of what we assume the average appraiser charges, what do we charge for a typical URAR? Could not be collusion, (a little help Edd and Smokey?) if because it would be annonymous, not geographical or person specific. Just a total.

Fine with me, I'm open to suggestions. I don't know how to go back and change the poll question/answers however.

I tried to word as careful as I could, as an opinion poll (not backed by facts), instead of asking specifically what the respondend charges for a typical URAR.

My intent is not to get appraisers to say what they charge, rather than what they believe (or think) other appraisers charge.

Wish you would have stuck Rural Appraisal in as well.

The average appraiser where? Nationwide or in my county? Can you break the poll into $50 increments?

Unfortunatley, it is not the average appraiser that most influences what can be charged. For most lender work, an appraisal is a commodity, and whoever does them for the least will win the work. We are getting beat on price by $50 right now, and losing a lot of work. Just decided to do a "spring promo" beat his price and steal some work back.

So the downward sprial continues. I am thinking about doing a Spring Promo also. I was going to run a 60 day special of $150 an appraisal and every 5th appraisal is free.:new_multi: :new_multi: :new_multi: :new_multi:

When I borrow money, I'm usually charged between 150-225. In our own shop, I charge 300-350, and stay plenty bizzzzieeeee. :)

As unfortunate as it is, what is the other option, more golf and fishing? I refuse to just put on the blinders and not notice how busy other appraisers are.

Tim, take a client golfing or fishing and then you will have a win-win situation without compromising your fee.
