Well done Timd345

Well done Timd345.
These are practical real life questions. I would also like the answers to these. Also, I believe the document stated that individual appraisers would be put on the list. What about the business owner that built an appraisal company which employes appraisers and office staff? Would the sales/marketing the company efforted since its creation be for nought? How would this also protect their interests as a company and employees?

I believe we are all in this together and the new FANNIE/FREDDIE policy does not have any consideration for anyones reputation or business affairs. Most here are independents like yourself, with allot to loose.

We will be putting together a Q & A that will answer many of your questions.
This is an OUTLINE. Many details are being worked on. We appreciate your questions and are preparing to answer them.

Maybe this has been addressed somewhere but this seems like the old FHA fee panel. OK, I'm fine with that. Now then, how does the IVPI determine what the appraiser's fee will be?

Bottom line... the proposal envisions another huge bureacracy (lawyers, accountants and assorted paper pushers). Everyone needs to take a deep breath and think about how this could impact their ability to function as independent business men and women.

"...so long as the Lender has the purse strings the Appraiser will always be under their influence..." (posted by timd354)

Sorry, this is a bit of a crock. I have clients that put great emphasis on an honest valuation and never, repeat never, try and influence value. I'm sure many other appraisers have the same relationships.

Also, why should anyone set my fees or determine how much work I get (because I'm now on some rotation). Looks like just another AMC. Only worse maybe.

Was the outline delivered to Cuomo with details still being ironed out?
