NC appraisal seal/stamp

I am in the process of relocating from FL to NC. I received my new cert and application to the ASC national registry, but I also received paperwork to buy a stamp/seal that they say is required to be on every appraisal.

How are these applied on your appraisals since all appraisals are now sent pdf? I'm guessing you have to send an imagine of it to my software provider, and they will send me a file back, similar to how the digital signature works. Is that how you all do it?

Yes, some lenders require a letter from the NCAB that it meets their size requirements etc, so its a good idea to get the real stamp, make a pdf copy with your software and submit it to the state for approval. The NCAB will provide confirmation that it meets their requirements. BB & T is one that comes to mind that requires the NCAB letter.

That's exactly what I did. Contact your software for the details.

I know in a la mode, you can scan your signature and seal and do it yourself.

Mr. Rex - yes, I do have to send a letter back (with my seal on it) to the NCAB so they can approve the seal. Now that I know some lenders may require that approval letter, I will make sure to file/save it.

If you do it yourself you will likely want to use a format that allows invisible backgrounds like GIF, PNG or XCF so that you can work with the seal separate from your signature. You can then combine the two for use in your reports. Your software will probably prefer the GIF format.

My image is the exact size as the original. Get this, the FNC Aiport chenges the size of my signture. Does that mean I am not in compliance?

Only if it is under 1" in diameter.

The seal must be legible, must conform to the seal authorized by the Board at time of initial licensure or certification, and must be a minimum of 1 inch in diameter.
