Property Fence- FHA requirement?

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me out real quick. For an FHA appraisal, if the subject property does not have a rear fence dividing his lot from his back neighbor's lot, would you call out for it that it needs to be installed?

A fence is not required. I have not had a fence around my property in decades. Neither do most of my neighbors. Where did you get the idea that a fence was a requirement?

Other than I hear an appraiser on the side of a hill yodeling out for a fence, would you please explain to all us forum members what in the world generated this question? Please explain how fences are needed for lending or for market acceptability? Or how a fence is required for FHA insurance?

Instead of asking us this question... YOU explain to us why you think a fence would be a requirement. Cite your source as well.
