Is It Super Slow Or What?

In March my main AMC (I know that sounds bad, but HVCC scared all my independent clients into the AMCs jaws) sent me a month and a half worth of work in the first four days. Most were pre-foreclosure drive-bys. I have not heard from them since March 10th.

Only two orders so far in April, which leads me to believe that the bank owned AMCs cleared their repo assignments out last month in order to create a work shortage just in time for April 1st.

I saw a positive blip just before the first of April. On April 1st the "rules" changed for how mortgage brokers are compensated. One of my correspondent lender clients told me that the LO's were rushing to get everything they could in prior to April 1st and this has naturally led to a slower period after.

My numero uno residential client has disappeared in the last week and a half, but I have seen some activity pick up from some secondary clients. I have noticed that usually when I see activity pick up from some of these clients, some of the bigger clients will pick-up shortly thereafter. I have actually been busy working on some commercial assignments so I haven't had as much availability for some of the residential anyway.

Feb was not so good. March really bad. April is off to a decent start. Most of my work is refi's and I keep hearing there are plenty of applicants but nobody can get qualified. Times are tough and those little late pays make a mess of your credit ... I hear.

..Oh and commercial is chugging right along in my area but I am currently just on the path to becoming a general, not there yet. Argh!!

March was great. April... not so much.

This should answer your question.

I called my (non-appraisal) part-time employer today (which I have had for the past 3 years) and requested to go full-time.

I prefer eating and paying my mortgage to forced retirement.
