Is It Super Slow Or What?

Where is this petition everyone is signing? Never mind....I found it.

Congrats on your success and keep up the good work !

Thanks George, Farm Guy, Tim, and Mentor. I was about to dump this place as being a bunch of sourpusses who think they are the only honest, ethical, hard working appraisers in the country. Glad there are FEW who don't need to tear down everyone else. I think I will spend less time here, and find other sources for industry news and discussion.

March was busy, April has been very sluggish! Talked to my lender and they stated work is also slow there, but they have been extremely busy doing prequalifications for their members.

My average fee this month, including finals and 2055's is $322. I work alone, I can do comfortably 1 a day, and yes I signed the petition. The arrogance on this forum is unbelievable.

Tom,
That's more like it. Now was this really hard to admit...rather than considering yourself that GOOD....

"The arrogance on this forum is unbelievable"

My hats off to you, take care.

Tom, there's only a few of us "oldsters" left on the forum. I only get to read and post when I am really slow and I am really slow right now. Not only is it slow, but the work is sooooo complicated. I would retire, but the economy is so bad that I just don't feel like I can.

Last year wasn't too bad but my REO work has dried up for the time being - I guess the real estate agents are getting their $25 for a BPO, and the courts are backed up. Anyway, hang in there!

I just finished my first appraisal report for this month. This is going to be a good month.

Completed 17 through today 4-13-11, this month.

Turned down or bid C&R & did not get 26 others.....so far

Of course......have worked all 13 days this month-no time off, YET....10-12 hours per day

Could be a good month....will wait & see. Average fee (finals, 2055's, REO, Full 1004) = $372

I signed the petition, also. #9

Going FISHING at the coast 5-5 to 5-8-11 so hope I can earn enough for BAIT......

'Blessings'
Gregg

I was pretty busy in March, but I had an unusual amount of non lender work. April has been slower, but still have a decent amount of work.

So far 2011 has been great - accepted six appraisal requests yesterday, all at $350 or above - there are three of us in the office, so before you jump down my throat and call me a skippy, we can handle it thank you - Getting a lot of fee and turn time calls, getting about half of the assignments after quoting our C & R fees. Still doing mostly lending but have some attorney work in the mix. We learned a long time ago to have a very broad base of clients as inevitably when one gets slow, another one picks up - got a contract for USDA work last week, we'll see how that pans out - being in a rural area it should provide about 10-12 requests a month to supplement the workload. 25 appraisals so far this month (again, there are THREE of us - well, really 2.5, daughter only needs to do $3000/month to make her household budget, so when she's got that, she plays mommy and wifey the rest of the month). Went to an MLS meeting with another appraiser yesterday and she and her hubs work together and are staying steady too, so I know it's not just our office.
