Duncan, I think you missed his point which is that too little is being done. I don't think his alternative solution would be to do nothing! What he labels a fraud is the lack of effective action, not the existence of climate change. My science might not be up to par but your reading comprehension is in the same boat! :rof::eyecrazy:

I did not miss the point science "boy" with a small "b", this is the point:

And you've found the simplest method of all--deny all of the science! Funny stuff. Want to try to agree with Mr. Hansen while misunderstanding what he is saying or then turn and disparage him? You are a riot.

Hasen stated my position. If they don't have a real agreement to cap emissions that is legally binding, it is a fake, a hoax. How come you are not upset, science "boy" with a small "b". :rof:

so you agree that a cap on emissions is necessary to address a problem you deny exists? That's the kind of thinking that got you the sobriquet "Duncan."

Your cartoons are clearly an attempt to deflect since you are clearly running out of ways to refute reality. They are entertaining as is your flailing.

Let me explain my reasoning to your simple mind. If climate change is real, and if climate change is caused by human C02 emissions, and if the levels are so dangerous as to be urgently acted upon with drastic action taken quickly, and if 97% of all scientists believe that, all 200 governments believe that, then the results of the COP21 should not be an unenforceable goal that is voluntary. The results should be similar to mobilizing for war, actions taken like the U.S. did in WWII.

But, the reality is climate change is not that urgent or dangerous and CO2 is not causing it. That fits with reality and the action taken by 200 governments. Ergo, COP21 was fake, a fraud.

Scientists reveal that the rotation of Earth's core holds a clue to understanding global sea-level rise

Uh-oh, science "boy" with a small "b" ain't going to like this ...

Scientists are studying past changes in sea level in order to make accurate future predictions of this consequence of climate change, and they're looking down to Earth's core to do so. "In order to fully understand the sea-level change that has occurred in the past century, we need to understand the dynamics of the flow in Earth's core" says Mathieu Dumberry, a professor in physics at the University of Alberta.

The connection is through the change in the speed of Earth's rotation. Melt water from glaciers not only causes sea-level rise, but also shifts mass from the pole to the equator, which slows down the rotation. (Picture the Earth as a spinning figure skater. The skater moves his or her arms in to spin more quickly or out to slow down.) The gravity pull from the Moon also contributes to the slow down, acting a little like a leaver break. However, the combination of these effects is not enough to explain the observations of the slowing down of Earth's rotation: a contribution from Earth's core must be added.

One of only a few people in the world investigating changes in Earth rotation, Dumberry contributed his expertise on Earth's core-mantle coupling to the study. "Over the past 3000 years, the core of the Earth has been speeding up a little, and the mantle-crust on which we stand is slowing down." As a consequence of Earth rotating more slowly, the length of our days is slowly increasing. In fact, a century from now, the length of a day will increase by 1.7 milliseconds. This may not seem like much, but Dumberry notes that this is a cumulative effect that adds up over time.

Based on their work reconciling these discrepancies, the scientists involved in the study are confident in predicting sea level to the end of the 21st century. "This can help to better prepare coastal towns, for example, to cope with climate change," says Dumberry. "We're talking billions of dollars of infrastructure here." Dumberry notes that this study serves as a stimulus for more work to continue investigating the deep interior of our planet.

The findings, "Reconciling past changes in Earth's rotation with 20th century global sea-level rise: Resolving Munk's enigma," were published in the December 11, 2015 issue of the journal Science Advances.

http://phys.org/news/2015-12-scientists-reveal-rotation-earth-core.html

They don't believe the IPCC computer models than can't reconcile CO2 levels to sea level increases although that is the claimed mechanism for heating the earth.

Looking at the rotational speed of the earth is independent of CO2 levels in the atmosphere. It is directly a cause and effect of more water from glaciers according to their explanation.

Still stuck on meme's to defend an indefensible position?
Thinking and verifying is too hard?

From your article found at: http://www.dec.ny.gov/energy/45202.html

New York has experienced at least a foot of sea-level rise since 1900,(116 years) mostly due to expansion of warming ocean water. Certain conditions along New York's coast make sea-level rise here somewhat higher than the global average.

By 2100 (84 years), scientists project sea levels 18 to 50 inches higher than today along New York's coastlines and estuaries, though a rise as high as 75 inches could occur.

So,
12 inches divided by 116 years = 0.10 of an inch year - historic data.
18 inches divided by 84 years = 0.21 inches a year, quite an increase, while,
50 inches divided by 84 years = 0.595 inches a year,

With NY saying the current rise of the ocean, or sinking of their island is between 0.21 and 0.6 +/- inches a year,

While NOAA says,
Mean Sea Level Trend - 8518750 The Battery, New York

1850 to 2020 is.........

wait for it..................

OMG how do they publish such rubbish?

The mean sea level trend is 2.84 millimeters/year with a 95% confidence
2.84 Millimeters = 0.11181102362 Inches
AND
THE CHANGE IS EQUIVALENT TO 0.93 FEET OVER 100 YEARS!
Yeah
just slightly less than the meme being sold to you.

Good thing your day job does not require you verify information told to you.

Oh Gheez Pete,

Should NY be measuring sea level rise from the Battery??

With its fine promenade and magnificent vista of the harbor, the Battery became a popular place for New Yorkers to visit in the early 18th century. Its development as a public park owes to its enlargement through landfill. Fort George (as Fort Amsterdam was then known) was completely razed in 1788, and its remnants were used to fill in the shore and expand the Battery. Between 1808 and 1811, a new circular fort known as the West Battery was erected 200 feet offshore. It was renamed Castle Clinton (for Governor De Witt Clinton) in 1815 and ceded to the City in 1823. Around this time, the park was extended further by landfills to an area of about ten acres. Another massive landfill project got underway in 1853 and was completed in 1872.

Meanwhile, the old fort was renamed Castle Garden and provided the setting for countless receptions, demonstrations, and performances for more than thirty years. General Lafayette was welcomed there in 1824 and Hungarian patriot Lajos Kossuth in 1851. Inventor Samuel F.B. Morse demonstrated his “wireless telegraph” in 1842, and singer Jenny Lind made her American debut in 1850. From 1855 to 1890 the building was used as the federal immigration center for the east coast, processing approximately eight million immigrants. In 1890 Castle Clinton was acquired by the New York City Department of Public Parks, which operated the New York Aquarium there from 1896 to 1941.

Portions of Battery Park were closed from 1940 to 1952, while the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel and the Battery Park Underpass were built beneath it. Although construction was delayed by World War II, New Yorkers were delighted with the dramatically transformed park, completely relandscaped and expanded by two acres. Subsequent alterations include the addition of Peter Minuit Plaza in 1955 and the dedication of the East Coast Memorial in 1963. Castle Clinton was ceded to the U.S. Department of the Interior in 1950 and designated a national monument. In 1982 New York State designated Battery Park as a part of Harbor Park, a group of historic waterfront sites.

Slick trick to measure sea level rise from a place built on a land fill, expanded as a landfill, highly landscaped, then dug into for a tunnel.

Makes you wonder what it looked like in 1850 to start measuring the sinking seas as the land fills rose up.

Makes you wonder if the WTC falling down did not help push battery park down into the water, or,

That the seawall around battery park is not sinking in the sand.
