Now you see the big picture.

The golden rule.

YOu might have been better off asking why the GSEs limited the number of software providers who could have the secret code that transforms your reports into data points the CU can use.

That there is where your conspiracy lies, as it limits competition between software providers, and those that might develop competing software.

.

I think Don Quixote should do the obvious thing. Stop doing GSE work and starve them of data.

I don't think the code was secret.

But nevertheless. Why did the software providers simply conform?

They can still make the decision to QUIT today.

For profit business's tend to produce products that are in demand. You can quit feeding the GSE machine today too. Why ask someone else to go out of business, a business much bigger than your own, for your whims?

Another angle to look at is maybe FNMA won't have the last laugh.

They have tons and tons of incorrect data due to the absolute rating scale being used in an appraisal world where there is no such thing as absolute but only relative.

I rate most things Q4, I've seen tons and tons of reports where appraisers rate my Q4's Q3's and 2's.

I've seen tons of appraisals that rate 10 year old stuff C2's and even 1 year lived in C1's. Tons of my C3' are others C1's,2, and 4's.

It's a beautiful thing. They have millions of data samples on homes and it is all incorrect or at the very best, unable to decipher what is correct.

Now it may take another recession for them to find this out, but one day they will. All that data did absolutely nothing, and that is absolute.

When 1 house is appraised 10x's by 10 different appraisers and it has been untouched yet the rating vary from Q2-Q4 and C2's-C4 and not in a depreciatied way and the value was all within 10%.

They have a major, major problem on their hands. As they spent who knows what and what lies to whom. All a dirty little secret that will one day come out.

You are asking us ALL to go out of business for YOUR whims by complying.

One person cannot stop or create a bump in the road for the GSE's. A company like ALAMODE with the vast market share that they enjoy CAN make an impact.

Like ACI or Clickforms wouldn't laugh all the way to the bank?

At the time they wouldn't have.

Lets fact it. Clickforms and ACI are such minor players that the impacts made by alamode would be felt to an extent that the GSE's would be forced to roll back their requirements.

If you are suggesting that Clickforms and ACI would suddenly become rich with new appraisers over night... That just wouldn't happen. The response would overwhelm these players if that happened.

Alamode would create a ripple that would be effective and put the power back in the appraiser's hands for decades to come.

Since UAD, I haven't seen reports of other appraisers, but common sense and past experiences would lead me to agree with your post regarding inconsistent C and Q ratings....
