Why Do I Keep Getting Pop Ups On This Forum?

What browser do you use on your phone? I never use the browser that's pre-loaded. I prefer Mozilla and never have problems with pop-up ads on any website.

It could also be from other apps you've downloaded too. Some apps are ad-driven and lurk in the background and any activity you do on your phone will activate the ads. I have family members that can't even make a simple call or take a picture without an ad popping up. After cleaning their phones of all these crappy apps they don't need problem solved. If you're not familiar with cleaning your phone, take it to someone who knows what to look for and have them delete them.. Whatever you do, don't download an phone cleaner app. Those have ads too.

Thanks for reporting the exact URL's of the bad ads. Those have been blocked. I can only block them if they are reported.

This is an industry wide problem with rogue advertisers purchasing ads that do this. Google and other ad purchasers are working to block them, but like phone spam they easily change URL's and names, etc.

Again, report the exact URL's when it happens and I will block that specific URL. At this time that is the best solution.

I rely on ad income to run the forum so not having ads is not an option for me. I would just close the forum rather than spend the time and money to keep it going for free. I have other hobbies to support that I enjoy more than the forum.

if you block ads you cant access the site. if you access the site you get popups. have to pay to use a free site.

I might add that the Gold Supporting Membership is ad free across all platforms. Computer, phone, tablet, etc.

I haven't seen any pop-up ads on my android tablet on this site. I see the regular banner ads. Mr. Pittman is correct in saying that the crapware you have installed on your phone is the likely cause of the problem. Use a browser for things like facebook and twitter. Their aps do more than just let you use their sites, they also track you. Free games that display ads are the likely cause of the problem.

This site is important to me...my guess it is for you also. I don't pay Wayne because Ad's don't bother me to much. Either way Wayne deserves compensation. If the ads became to intrusive then I would just pay Wayne directly. I just might do it anyway. I sometimes use I.E. Terrible browser...scripts often are long running and blah blah. Currently I use Google's browser. I Don't have any real problems with it.. Matter of fact for me is Googles browser works real well on my Windows 7 laptop.

What I have done is really limited the apps on my phone. I like the weather app because I ride a motorcycle all the time and it is helpful for me in dodging bad storms.
I don't get and don't want feed on my phone from this forum. I love this forum but seriously in the whole context of my daily life your just not that important on a 24/7 basis.
