Its not that simple for some of us apparently. I've tried 2 different browsers and both have issues. Select to print .pdf or printer and its the same, looks fine on screen but in .pdf or printer its not.

I have had problems with the site as well. Some times it will not open. The old turn off the computer and turn it back on has work sometimes. If that does not work I would call the VA

Anyone have any tips on how to print the 1805 on the new site? I've sent a few help desk tickets, but, have not gotten a response thus far. I can view the 1805, but, when I go to print it, it just opens a blank tab. So far, this is the one major issue I've had with the new one.

I got into the new site, printed the 1805, but the left margin chops off the first number or letter. I posted the problem in the notes section, hopefully, their IT/VA IT department will resolve the problem.
I did go back into the old VA website/ VIP and had no problem printing the 1805. I'm imagining we'll have problems with the new site for a bit.

I goofed around with it last night and finally got the best 1805 using Google Chrome browser. Once the .pdf was up I had to removed all the margins for printing. The result was a huge header with an "x" and the word Print but using 11x14 paper I got it on one page.

Maybe something in our browser settings not user friendly with the website. I'm not savvy enough to figure that out, just band-aid it for now until tech support answers my help request...

Two nitpicky things about the new portal:

1) it takes too many clicks to log in. It's a pain but mostly just inconvenient. Oh well, I'll get used to that.

2) I always print out the "assignment details" for the file. What used to print on 2 pages now takes 4 pages. So much for saving trees and all that.

This is my biggest snafu with the new portal (aside from the dual layer security stuff that is a royal pain) - the 1805 does not "fit" onto the page when printed, parts are truncated all along one side (the right side of mine). This will lop off request dates and "Institute Case Numbers", which are required on invoices to speed along payment in most cases. So I can call up the 1805 on screen and get the data and manually write it down somewhere, but really!? It is 2019 and this is one of the largest taxpayer funded behemoths on the planet, you'd think we could get an actual WYSIWYG printout.

I had to modify the size before I print it. Change it to "fit to page".

Precisely. Rather than just hitting control/print or similar....actually open your print dialogue box....go to "more settings"....and adjust either/both 'fit to page' or 'scale'. These 1805 forms easily fit on one letter size page if you have your print settings set correctly. Once set for this document...you will not have to readjust each/every time.

Both portals are down now.
