Ever since my gym closed in March, my Adonis body has gone a bit flabby. My gym finally opened and I was wondering has any of you gone back.
Suppose to clean every hour. Do you feel comfortable using the equipments?

My gym is associated with the local hospital and due to required restrictions they came out a few weeks ago that they decided they are not reopening until September.

Even though I have had many, many gym memberships throughout my 48 years of lifting, I have always had a home gym in the basement sufficient enough to tax a mortal trainee.

I would NOT be going to a gym at this time.

NO gym is NO excuse.

What kind of setup do you have in your basement? We have an older commercial quality treadmill that is reaching it's end of life and have ordered a new commercial one. I have been for some sort of weight system for the basement that I could use on the days we don't go to the gym for whatever reason. I know there are no good reasons not to exercise, but it is amazing how life gets in the way.

An older version of something like this with much more weight than I need at 60 years old. Combined with a rack of dumbells and 40+ years of experience it is more than enough to make a High School athlete beg for mercy. Be creative, forget the treadmill/bike scene, it's all about intensity.

You can go hard or you can go long, not both. Good luck.

My wife is the treadmill person. I prefer to lift weights and use a rowing machine for cardo. I generally work with between 150 & 250 lbs for my upper body/torso and 300+ for my legs. At the gym I will do three sets of ten reps at each machine. I know most home based gyms will have less weight capacity and will require more reps which is fine. My goal was to increase the weight for each machine by 10lbs the first of every month (until reaching the machines max) while maintaining the number of sets and reps. Made for a nice 60 minute workout.

More golf, More walking. I miss pushing iron and the way it pushes back.

With the recent spike and knowing several individuals that have contracted the virus recently, we are being more cautious than we were at the beginning of this mess. Unfortunately, that means no gym anytime soon.

While I agree that no gym should mean less excuses, I like to lift heavy, which is why I pay for a gym membership. The 52.5 lbs bowflex dumbells simply are not enough for legs, chest, and most shoulder exercises. I know that a significant amount of strength has gone down the tubes.

Focusing on trying to maintain and just bought a bike to keep some sanity (freedom) and keep the legs in shape.

I have an auto immune condition. So, even though my gym has reopened, I am not going to the gym right now.

Because of my condition, catching COVID-19 could/would be very bad for me. So, I have been working on my cardiovascular fitness. But I have been doing that on the local greenways and at home, not at the gym. When we went all remote back in early March I was running about 4 miles a day. Over the last three months I have gradually increased the distance to the point that I am now doing a 10K to start most mornings. I also put a treadmill right next to my desk, and I get in several walks a day as well.
