Going back to the gym

I have been back about 3 weeks now. My gym is a small boutique type. They are offering indoor classes, or outdoor classes in the parking lot, one person per parking space LOL. I've been working out outdoors. Inside there are taped "squares" and everyone gets a basket for personal belongings. Everyone's temp is taken with a no contact scanner. I have no issue going inside, but its so nice at 6:30 am that I will stick outside for the time being. We also have a family membership to Lifetime...We have that on hold still. Partly because we bike and hike so it doesn't get used in the Summer except for the pools.

I thought my gym will go bankrupt. Wait a minute it did go bankrupt.
I'm going tomorrow. The gym set it up so 10 people are allowed every hour and half hour for clean up.
I hope that will be sufficient for a safe environment.

Got back from gym. Normally 45 minute workout but cut it short 30 minutes.
I felt there were more than 10 people in gym. Seem like more crowded than usual.
It was hard to social distance since the weight equipments still close to each other. I tried to use the unoccupied ones.
It was hard to breath with my N95 mask.
I think I must be oldest person there. At least others were constantly wiping the equipment when in use.
The pool, hot tub, locker room, and showers were closed.
Once I got home, I felt safer showering and put gym clothes in washer.
Next time, I go earlier in morning hopefully less people.

F, that's way too much worry for something that is supposed to be healthful. You're in sunny CA, get/make one of these https://www.artofmanliness.com/arti...how-to-make-and-use-a-bulgarian-training-bag/

go to a park or open field, do a workout with the bag, add burpees, wind sprints, pushups, situps and pullups if you can find an overhead pipe. That is a functional workout that will leave you gassed.

May I ask, how many of your exercises at the gym involve you being seated on a piece of equipment?

Wiping the equipment down is only a fraction of the potential problem at the gym. The bigger problem is the respiratory droplets from heavy breathers in an area with minimal air flow. Everybody is breathing heavy in a gym. IMO they are the most hazardous places. You are really wearing an N95 mask? If so, you will be minimizing the risk.

Go for a run, bike, follow a youtube workout video, stay outside... but I understand the difficulty in staying in shape right now.

The after effects. My muscles are sore. I missed that feeling.

Does anyone in West Virginia know what happened in Planet Fitness.
There was a member who tested positive and now those who were in the gym during certain hours are advised to self quarantined.
Were all the members in the gym wearing masks?

I wanted to go to gym today but I chickened out.
A new study from Northwestern U found that the existing coronavirus has mutated so it's more contagious attacking our cells

WHO says there's two ways of catching coronavirus - someone sneeze or cough at me or touching contaminated surfaces & touching my face.
US researchers are saying that the virus lingers aerosol for around 30 minutes. Yucks.
The aerosol in the air is more dangerous inside. I will reconsider going to the gym.

I couldn't help myself today. I had to go to the gym.
It's crowded. Many equipment not working (broken) and no social distancing.
There was one guy not wearing a mask.
I had to cut my stay there and left early.
