Sick of the book, need to learn the software based one, purchased a one time use, to see how it is and can't figure how to launch it. Getting old.

Any one? Thanks for reply

well, it can be even more complicated after you launch it. what are you using if for? also, craftsman has their own software to, i think that is the name of their competitor.
i can't stand either. i have built homes. so, what do you want to do with it. might be other better options out there.

I figured it out, restart software, hit DASHBOARD button in top right corner and the Marshall/Swift app pops up there. Was using it for a high end, excellent quality new construction. Book is cumbersome. The online version is pretty simple tbh. (y)

It is simple, it's a little more money peruse but the worst part is not being able to use a mix like average to good, it is either-or. You just can't fine-tune it much, like you are also allowed only 1 covered porch and at times it will get a little buggy so hit the save button often.

Just remember, M&S costs do not include builder's overhead and entrepreneurial profit. Add that in as well.

NBC is faster and cheaper. Buy the book, there is a code inside, go to their website, download and the "stuff" is on your computer. The various classifications will be available, the local multipliers, etc. and it will do "stuff" in retro back years earlier if you want.

i wanted to see if it would save time and im used to the book but still quicker with the book. if its not broke...

Years ago I called them and asked about that and was told they include 12%-15% for builder profit. That is in line with what builders here try to make.
But...I have seen cases where two identical new houses sold for widely different prices due to local market conditions, after factoring for things like cost of lot, water & sewer fees etc...
