This is in CA Realtor form to be signed by Buyer and Seller:

"Any appraisal of the property is required to be unbiased, objective, and not influenced by improper or illegal considerations,
including, but not limited to, any of the following: race, color, religion (including religious dress, grooming practices, or both),
gender (including, but not limited to, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and related conditions, and gender identity and
gender expression), sexual orientation, marital status, medical condition, military or veteran status, national origin (including
language use and possession of a driver's license issued to persons unable to provide their presence in the United States is
authorized under federal law), source of income, ancestry, disability (mental and physical, including, but not limited to, HIV/
AIDS status, cancer diagnosis, and genetic characteristics), genetic information, or age.

If a buyer or seller believes that the appraisal has been influenced by any of the above factors, the seller or buyer can report
this information to the lender or mortgage broker that retained the appraiser and may also file a complaint with the Bureau of
Real Estate Appraisers at https://www2.brea.ca.gov/complaint/ or call (916) 552-9000 for further information on how to file a
complaint."

Where do we complain when real estate agents have influence on appraisers?

Whoever decided that this new addendum was needed should . . . I can't think of anything terrible enough. The phrase "While Rome burns..." comes to mind. (Like it takes me 30 minutes to talk to my doctor on the phone going through clearance protocol to ensure that nobody steals my medical history....like who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!) ANYBODY WHO STEALS MY IDENTITY WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE IT IS SO BORING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The above was always true, this just puts it as a disclosure in the appraisal.

In other words, if you are white and male with a religious view of your own, and the owner is pregnant, a different race and religion, breast feeding, trans, unmarried, handicapped, and is either a vet or is not a vet...(?), has their genealogy pasted to the wall, and is not something similar to your own age... then turn down the assignment or move to another state.
this just puts it as a disclosure in the appraisal.
I didn't read it that way. It is a disclosure with the Realtor, who has a dog in this fight, and might file a complaint because you came in low.

It is a word trap. They add things like "pregnancy" or "breast feeding" or childbirth" when referring to gender. Why? How do you determine "gender expression". Just provides additional way to target the appraiser. You could be accused of violating someone's "gender expression" Just because they say so. WTF is "gender expression".

The verbiage is ridiculous but it was always there ... just spelling it out.

I personally dislike it also because it is putting it out there for a buyer, seller or RE agent to file a complaint if they think those personal factors influenced the appraisal .

Years ago I had a listing and I had multiple offers. I was young agent.
The agent which didn't get the ratified offer accused me of gay discrimination.
I was surprised I was accused of that. After that, I had to be more sensitive.
Appraisers have to be careful giving wrong impression.
