I like AMCs. They keep the newbies busy so they don’t take my work from high paying lenders I deal with directly.

Most of those newbies are 55 plus years old. I imagine there are few appraisers where you work so its not that your that good , you just have no competition.

Somewhat agree. Good clients want ** when you are down.

The large AMCs are just POS. Customary and reasonable fees are whatever the large AMCs can bend you over with.

One of my sons is a manager for a beer distributor. (they don't handle AB beers). He says most of their sales reps just take orders. The sales reps who make more money are out there hustling and actively selling. Those are the reps who get first crack at it when the better routes come up for reassignment.

AFAICT, nobody here who says they have the better paying clients got to that point by chance or accident. They didn't wait for those clients to just come to them.
