Waivers, huh?

Our clients are the lenders. And we put our hatred toward AMCs. Lenders played us so well.
No AMC work, its either VA or direct lender or private work. Just finished a $17,000,000 sale with a $3,200 fee from a big bank. Would rather have free time than make nickels from AMC's.

Would that fee have been different during 2020 & 2021....

I don’t think there’s anything more cowardly than not having what it takes to stand up for your profession.
At least I don't lie. Stand up how? By indulging in misinformation? By making arguments in bad faith? Arguments which, even if they weren't based on an untruth, are still unproductive insofar as improving the well being of appraisers?

Paste direct from a post, the LIES you are accusing appraisers of making -
Go ahead, show it to us. Paste it directly from a post here. If you are going to accuse anyone of lying, including myself, then prove it by pasting the so-called lies directly from a post.

Show us the misinformation you think anyone presented here - direct paste from a post.

The waivers accomplish nothing except putting appraisers out of work and putting money into the hands of the AMCs, who collect property data on them.
I thought they saved the borrower time and money?

Meh. I guess first you'd have to decide whether it's worth standing up for, right?

Just the idea that appraisers can "fight back" or "resist" is an obvious untruth insofar as making the situation better for appraisers. They're been "fighting back" against the AMC scourge for 15 years now and that situation has only gotten worse. Not because their resistance made it worse but because that "fight back" was so impotent that it had no effect one way or another; it wasn't even of enough effect to be characterized as a negative effect.

Calling me a coward for pointing things out that appraisers don't want to hear is a lie, too. Calling everyone a shill (an accomplice) who is engaging on this side of the argument is a HUGE lie. These lies have been a constant on this forum for a long time, so citing a couple examples doesn't amount to cherry picking, either.

Yeah, I get that. But I’m thankful a lot of us are not willing to sit by and let large corporations take over the entire residential real estate appraisal business. There’s a reason the AMC’s are going after that giant chunk of pie.

Decimating a profession to save a segment of borrowers who are well-heeled a little money and a day or two off a closing is a bad trade, but if you think it was worth it, so be it.

Some of these borrowers will pay a high price for the small savings on a valuation if they overpaid due or over-borrowed due to getting a waiver. There is no fee lunch-

I don't agree. If a segment of appraisers had not resisted the low fees, the fees would have been even worse on the AMC's end. And a number of lenders still order direct, so it wasn't all in vain. If every appraiser had spoken with one voice, it could have been better, but that is not what happened for many reasons.

What's with the papal signal to Ukraine to raise the white flag, then GH is beseeching appraisers that AMC resistance is futile? :)
