"China has blown it by threatening their neighbors, revealing their vunerability and anxiety behind the curtain. Pedal to the metal."

Irony anyone....

You'd be a good trade rep, groveling early and often.

Despite the chickenhearts hand wringing, talks are progressing. An agreement with India is near as is Japan, the latter especially starting to feel the heat. China has blown it by threatening their neighbors, revealing their vunerability and anxiety behind the curtain. Pedal to the metal.
Probably a truism in Trumplandia. In real life, Japan’s trade minister left DC without a trade agreement and told his local media that America should reconsider its “extremely regrettable” actions.

The pump and dump crowd aren't happy, they see reduced margins in their futures. Too bad, so sad.

Do you have anything to back up that assertion? Maybe some of that BLS data you track daily?

.
Vietnam was so eager to negotiate. Not anymore since Vietnam has closer relationship with China.
Only a true ignoramous about Vietnanmese histroy could write something so stupid. The Vietnamese absolutely hate China going back for than a millenium to the point where Vietnam and China fought a 10-years long border war in the 1980s and did not re-establish diplomatic relations until 1991. Vietnam is in a tough spot since their economy is definitely dependent on both trade with China and the US, but make no mistake...Vietnam absolutely hates China. Also, keep in mind that the US, not China is the largest market for Vietnam's exports, so the US holds as much, if not more, economic leverage over Vietnam than China does.

It is fairly obvious John. Asian nations employ all kinds of tricks in order to subsidize their domestic industries. Why do you think Xi is on an airplane traveling around, threatening his trading partners? Is it because he has a strong hand? Or is it something else?

What’s fairly obvious Trump had a good hand but has played it poorly thus far. This is as one would expect given his limited skill set. He just isn’t that bright compared to other leaders and worse yet, he surrounds himself with “yes-man” sycophants who praise his poor decisions.

Sounds like you figured it out. President Xi kneepads are in the mail. Oh, the irony.
