Appraiser Bias Education

Why are you livid....
(1) Forced DEI bull biscuits. Avoidance of bias is baked into USPAP. I'd suspect the evidence of bias is at a very low level, but a couple bad actors penalize all. Show me stats to prove me wrong.
(2) SEVEN hours?!?! Insane.
(3) More time spent on courses that we repeat every single cycle leave less time to hone our craft.

The industry needs more mandatory education to eliminate bias. I get misgendered here on a daily basis. I'm considering identifying and transitioning into a Fannie Mae property data collector and identifying as its first hermaphrodite masochist collector. Pioneers may get the arrows, but sometimes pain is pleasurable.

Being called "coyote ugly" or an ugly coyote is not being misgendered.
16 hours are MANDATORY
How long before 28 hours are mandatory?

blah blah blah.....Jeez, talk about word salad. WTF wrote that?

CE is the cost of doing business. Make it 50 hours and it will weed out the part timers.

But you are predicting a future where we all are part-timers... And, frankly at $20-30 an hour for CE plus free classes with some E&O, etc. 50 hours is just $1,000-1,500, about the same as software and E & O.

I recently completed the mandatory 2-hour appraisal law course for Pennsylvania certification renewal. I was surprised to see that, beginning with the next cycle, appraisers will be required to complete SEVEN HOURS of bias training. This is 25% of the entire CE hours requirement!!! Since USPAP and law are 7 + 2, this will mean only 12 hours is left to enhance appraiser knowledge and skills. Sure, we're not prohibited from taking more classes, but I'd guess that a large percentage of appraisers get their CE reimbursed by their employer and aren't going to take more CE than the minimum required. I'm furious. Seven hours is insane, particularly when I think the entire idea of appraiser bias has been blown up out of proportion. Since bias is an element of USPAP's Ethics Rule, why???? Is there any way appraisers voices can be heard on this?
"Is there any way appraisers voices can be heard on this?" This is not an issue with any merit or reality. Systemic Racism in appraising causing hundred of millions or billion in lost value for POC....just a joke, sad joke. Appraisers fully run over by the bus, they could not care what appraisers have to say on this or much of anything for that matter.
