LOL. Snakes are something to watch for here also. You probably don't have to worry about them LOLI live in the concrete jungle. Alamode thread and grass cutting. Makes sense in some reality.
Right, they are used all day every day. Father has a commercial landscraping company. But only one diesel, rest are gas. You can sometimes pick the commercial grade up used for a good price from failed landcaping upstarts if you search around. Ditto on blowers, weed eaters, etc.The commercial zero turns are way too expensive. The landscapers I see around the neighborhood all use Exmark diesels. I looked them up when I was shopping and they are $30k. Crazy.

Hey, I saw my easter bunny again this morning. It is flirting with me. Coyotes will probably get it. I may put a few carrots where I have seen it last couple of days. My deceased hound brought me a baby bunny a long time ago. I said drop it. It got away. Thank you but let's let this bunny go.Alamode - lawn mowers - rabbits. Oh my.
I tried doing the math and I don't know how the landscaping companies are profitable. The company maintaining my neighbors yards basic package is $500 per month. That includes weekly mowing during mowing season, aerating, testing, fertilizing, weed control, overseeding as necessary. Doing it myself, each application of fertilizer, preemergent, and seeds costs about $400 not including labor.
My guess is all of that basic package is a loss leader and they make money on actual landscaping, hardscaping, and services like tree removal and pruning. Or maybe they are getting all the chemicals and seeds at a much cheaper price than I can.
