Bars on windows

There are cases where the criminals have lawsuits when they have been "wronged".
There is a case where a shoplifter was killed by security guard at Walgreens. Lawsuit by the criminal.
Thus, Walgreens let shoplifters leave without violent confrontations for the workers as well as the criminal.
I was at a mall in SF yesterday and noticed security guards at Whole Food market.
Main door to mall was shut and had to go to one outside door.
It's a shame shoplifters have caused stores to go to such extremes.

LOL...a true Californian !!
What? And Fernando says he's not on drugs...

They only response to someone breaking into my house will be a machine gun to the face. And they'd have to run dental records to identify the body after I unloaded the magazine.

Actually, a shotgun. Lost my machine gun in a tragic boating accident...

I was surprised my local Walgreens and even Safeway have their beauty/health products locked in glass protectors.
Whole rows and sections in glass booths. Didn't know shoplifters were in my town.
I don't like it. It's embarrassing to ask worker to open the shelves to get my intimate items.;)
Better to go on Amazon.

Question. How can a "safety latch" stop a criminal from reaching through the bars with a tool and unlatching the so-called safety latch. I can open a locked car door and have many times. It seems a cinch that a burglar could defeat a burglar bar latch.
If someone wants to get into your house, they will get in. Just depends on if they are willing to do what it takes. I once watched a worker cut a window sized hole in the wall of a house. Less than 5 minutes. It gets harder if the wannabe intruder wants to be quiet about it.

Yeah, VA requires it due to safety issue. We had like 9 people burn up in little house in downtown Memphis a few years ago because they could not get out after the fire started. Many people in lower income areas now have cameras and burglar systems on their house.

I have told people you can put them back up if you want to, but it is a safety issue. It is a code violation also.

Many older houses didn't have any release on them. Like being in jail. If you had a sledge hammer, you might could knock it off from the inside.

I would not care if the loan was conventional or owner financed, I would require them be removed and appraisal subject to removal and final inspection by appraiser.

Bars on windows prevent fire fighters from rescuing the occupants.
I can tell Felony Flats with fences and security bars on windows. Without release latches, I tell borrower lender most likely will ask for it to be remove.
Also in Felony Flats, I see more occupants having pit bulls.
I don't like to appraise in Felony Flats.

Pit Bull culture is a scourge. Hate that breed (been attacked multiple times) and even more, their owners.

Those pit bulls were taught to be aggressive.
When home is tenant occupied and there's a pit bull in the yard, it's problematic....and dangerous. I say to myself I don't get paid enough.
