It really had nothing to do with being poorly trained, it was that these organizations didn’t like money being funneled into self-employed independent appraiser’s pockets. They wanted their cut. And then they wanted it all. Money and who benefits is the only thing that’s been behind Every decision made over the last decade in this profession. I know the playbook before the snake oil folks even start talking. It’s always the same.

This is the **** I’m talking about. Licensed in 15 states. Only 1 license should be allowed to be active at a time. Maybe more if you live on a border.

Maybe the TAF harmonic state task force is working on that :rof::rof::rof: You know, in the name of public trust that’s in their mission statement.

Write a thank-you letter to NCPAC and the NCAI. They are the ones that lobbied and got the bill killed.

What if you specialize? Like a forester, a specialist in airports and hangars? Mall Valuers? What about folks who value truck terminals or RV parks?

Looks like ASC is jumping into the fray. Just got a letter from the SC appraisal board that going forward, they will verify all CE before renewing a reciprocal license. No more just providing evidence in the form of your renewal certificate from your home state.

Sure, states can deal with those on a case by case basis. But for an AMC appraiser to be sitting in their home office in south florida and be rubber stamping 50 reports a day from runners all over the country shouldn't be permitted. And the "regulators" can turn a blind eye on it if they want, but that's what's going on right now. It's probably not something that comes up at the breakfast club.
