Why the New UAD is DOA

Common sense which you don't have.
Man oh Man, can't believe the AF doesn't have like an annual Convention somewhere in Podunk USA...that would be a f'g hoot................

If that holds true, think of all the resources that have gone into this. From the software companies, lenders, us, a lot of time, energy, and in the case of the software companies, lots of money. For nothing I think the basic premise will be the same, but there will be lots of tweaks. IMO, there is no reason not to have a workable product, but the architects of this little enterprise are so caught up in their own narrative that they forget there is a real world out there.
The GSEs are paying the five large software developers and providers to work with them in the development and Beta testing because otherwise all but one had the resources to keep the business going. There is no big money in selling Appraisers software and the last two big ones are dependent on the GSEs to survive .

With the way the software is being promoted by many of the providers as being more efficient and time saving with all of the widgets they are offering. Why would any lender consider increasing fees

Nevermind that its pure BS.

Can't wait for the first lender to ask 'hey why are turn times for appraisals two months??? This **** was supposed to help us!?!'

:ROFLMAO:

GSEs have wasted uncounted Billions to destroy the appraising business and cripple the mortgage lending industry ...

... wonder if Bill Pulte will agree that it was money well spent when the house of cards comes down?

The 3 6 wasn't and isn't designed to help appraisers it's a advanced data collection depository that will eventually have most properties information from the height of doors to how old the toilets are. This embedded with newer advanced Artificial intelligence and advanced analytical technologies will in 5 years make only physical inspectors required to update the physical characteristics not determine values.

Those inspectors can get a certificate course to qualify and my guess is fees of $150 to $200 and this can also be a side gig for Realtors. 5 years is the target date so the timings perfect as most apprasers are 55 plus in age.

Yes *BUT*

"I was just following orders" - while willingly taking part in the extermination of your former profession - is hardly a morally redeeming position to take, any more than it is a legal defense in some other contexts. ;) ;) ;)
I sincerely hope he isn't active in that area, but who knows, I just know he's helped many in here over the years. My Santa wish is he's a double agent or better yet, a saboteur waiting for the optimum time to toss a wrench in the UAD machine. I realize that's a big wish.

FYI: The "Workbench" button mysteriously appeared on my ACI report top ribbon after today's update. While I will NEVER use it, I will be royally PO'd if they "migrate" the 1004/2055 forms to the Workbench before I am done with them next year or in 2027 (like the ACI training gal at the ACTs Conference said they would "eventually" do) ...

A form doesn't destroy a profession or a trade and it's the technology behind it that causes the change on how that individual profession operates.

The hand writing has been on the walls for years but the operators had to wait until the technology finally caught up.

The next wave of change won't take 20 year's it's moving fast enough to entirely transform it in 5 years or less. There's no conspiracy and no good or bad guys it's just change and adapt, retire or die. Lol
