UAD 3.6: No need to drive comp photos

It just makes wander if these people are getting wined and dined at the various conferences by software providers (which is why I don't attend or sponsor them, perhaps I should and just take a good shower afterwords).
Possibly. I'd like to think Lyle wouldn't do that, but I guess it's possible. I'm sure some of those folks are the targets of influence peddling, but they're generally pretty good about trying to stay neutral. Not sure why he made that post. I remember back in the day, I was teaching a CE class - and Lyle was in the class - he asked me not to mention his employer. Could be he was just worried about getting ganged up on in the parking lot... :ROFLMAO:

You should attend to see for yourself, I did.

Yeah, I'm by no means against that product or group of people. That's good to hear about Lyle, sounds like he's genuinely impressed by the tool.

lyle...is he still smearing appraisers with bias :rof:

I'm sure he's a nice enough person, but he operates in an echo chamber. Not long ago when pushing PDCs was the GSE corporate directive, he claimed the $$$ was so good he was planning on doing them in retirement and encouraged appraisers to jump in. Was it because of the echo chamber or did he really research the fees AMCs were/are paying for PDCs?

I spoke with a AMC employer the other day, top 5....

They said hybrids have slowed off because they were getting revision requests on both ends. Realtors are starting to complain about the PCRs. This is slowing things up on both ends..

The other thing is turn time. Since most are slow, appraisers are now waiting on the PCRs. He said appraisers are contacting the AMCs complaining that if they would have just ordered a traditional, they would have had it back by now.

The other is the fee. Not really saving much. Don't know if this is true, but he said appraisers are charging the same amount for a desktop hybrid.

I did a desk top for heloc. They ordered a drive-by pcr. Took 3 days. I told the AMC guy that I could've had it back the same day that it was ordered?

I think that's a common ailment for most of the ivory tower folks. I think that may be one reason DW lurks around here as much as he does - to try to stay grounded. Nothing intentional on their part - they're just paid for what they're paid for and are dissociated with the boots on the ground folks.

yeah, my general advice the the production folks in my realm is that they're not saving anything with a desktop option - as they'll still have to get a PDR. The do save quite a bit of time and money both (at least the borrower saves the money) with the PDR only option.

It's always easier to sell a potential client on a $ 175. Deal than a $ 600. Deal for a REFI. LO"s, AMC's, et al. are just trying to sell a "Deal" to the consumer. Much easier to sell when the upfront $ is peanuts. They want to close the deal, make the quota, get a bonus, screw the consumer, USPAP, ethics ...... Why order a 1004 when you can get the "Deal" done with a waver?

Great points. The lending industry is crazy competitive. If any LO can speed up the process by eliminating a step, any step, they will or their competing will. Not saying I like it, but that's reality.
