I hate HOAs but that's a personal choice because I'm not a person who likes conformity. But I also recognize that a HOA is good for many folks especially the elderly and single women. But ultimately it's a lifestyle choice and it's none of my business how others choose to live especially when their footing the HOA dues.

I would not want my RIP mother living in my neighborhood because it's not that safe and she didn't want to have guns and dogs and security cameras. If I die first a Condo would be a better choice for the Yenta for her safety than where we live now.

Simple solution - if a person does not want to deal with HOA rules and regs, don't buy or rent in one !
The internet is full of stories of HOAs overstepping their authority or suing or abusing adjacent landowners.

Yes, Homeowners Associations (HOAs) have sued farmers, often over noise, smells, or property values, despite the farms often existing first; however, Right-to-Farm laws in nearly every state protect farmers from nuisance lawsuits, especially when they follow standard practices, potentially limiting HOA success. These conflicts arise as new housing developments (with HOAs) encroach on established farmland, leading to clashes over agricultural activities versus residential expectations.

Poor farmers/ big ag, - who ignore and abuse environmental issues, squeeze animals into warehouses ( CAFO Confined feeding operations / they are prisons for animals not farms ) who are sucking on the govt getting price subsidies. Stop dumping pig waste in rivers and clean up the sht or Pay up to the HOA !!

oor farmers/ big ag, - who ignore and abuse environmental issues,
I hate calling you out, but you are a liar. "Big Ag" is highly regulated but anyone with cattle, backyard chickens, horses, kennels, or any kind of animal or farm operation THAT FEEDS YOU AND 300 MILLION OTHER AMERICANS will product noise and odor.

That does not mean they are polluting the water or ground. HOAs trot out the "it hurts property values" BS when the farms existed A CENTURY or more before the greenfield subdivision.

Right to Farm laws are almost universal. If you move to the country then don't blame the farmers who were there decades before you were. And they are putting up more and more signs like this.

Yenta would be a great name for a dog! If I get another dog! I miss the stories about your crazy uncle.
