Technology in appraisals AO 41

CubiCasa has an android app. Haven't had a chance to try it yet.
Used it quite a few times when it first came out. Was VERY impressed with the sketching technology, but it lacked measurement accuracy. It would render beautiful floorplans, but the GLA was typically off by ~ 5-10%.

How much time does it take? I would mind just having the floor plan, and measure the exterior.

literally as long as it takes you to walk the interior perimeter of the home. You simply point the app at the baseboards and walk the interior. Maybe 10 minutes for a larger home? I think the basic floorplans are still free with CubiCasa. If you want GLA estimates, I think it's ~ $10 or so. Either way, you have to send the results of your scan to them and they send you the floorplan back. I always had mine back within 24 hours.

That's odd that you have to send back and wait, are they manually outsourcing this to be calculated?

They're definitely manually laying it out - not sure if: (1) they still do it that way, or (2) if it's outsourced, but yeah - there definitely was some manual manipulation to create the final product.
