Nobody Is Ready Yet For The UAD Crap

forgotten more about appraising than you know

Interesting. The only time I forget how to do an appraisal is when I don't do one in a week or 2. Vacation, work is slow, etc. Takes a minute or 2 to get back into it. I wonder what I would remember if I took 20 years off from going out in the field and doing them?

And now you know who designed the "Abomination 3. 6" :rof:

ServiceLink partners with Grid-ML on guidance for key appraisal update

The digital guide compiles Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidance for the redesigned URAR

ServiceLink, a provider of technology-enabled mortgage services, has partnered with Grid-ML to offer an interactive reference guide designed to help appraisers prepare for the rollout of Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD) 3.6.

The UAD 3.6 Interactive Reference Guide compiles guidance from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into a single, searchable digital resource aligned with the redesigned Uniform Residential Appraisal Report (URAR).

... :rof:

Clowns. Who run their orders on a borderline useless platform. They will shortly learn, as will all other purveyors and collaborators, that NO ONE will do their 3.6 dreck. Its gonna start hitting the fan post-1/26, when the lenders who try ordering this **** find - NO TAKERS. Oh I cannot wait.

Who is going to update the Henry Harrison classic? :)

Harrison must be in his mid 90's to maybe even 100 years old, if he is still alive. He attended Wharton 1948-1952. And then there was World War II. Not too many appraisers around so talented.

It was a great book. I learned my appraisal formfilling from his book.

So is it your opinion that DW has somehow forgotten how to do ANYTHING that you do?

Please explain.

Please explain.
Are you saying that D. Wiley has not changed transitioning from Fee Shop owner, to AMC head and then riding the new camel named Freddie? :)

Of course not. But picking up additional perspectives and experience - while still handling 1004s on at least a weekly basis - doesn't necessarily indicate to losing competence or experience or perspective previously gained.

But specifically, the allegation was

Does anyone here seriously think DW has somehow forgotten how to appraise a house or how to deal with demanding clients?

While we're on the topic, are we supposed to believe there's a superior moral, ethical or competency virtue in being less informed on USPAP, less informed on how AMCs interact with the lenders and the appraisers, and less informed on how the GSE policies work and what the expectations are at the GSEs?

Seriously, I think some of you guys should give some consideration to what the status quo would look like had if that AMC or Freddie hired one of the suits they normally hire for these roles instead of a subject matter expert. As just one example he went to bat for appraisers in those appraiser-bias hearings, enough so that I'm surprised he didn't get fired for it. You guys should send flowers for that one. Not to mention the improvements in USPAP compliance that are in the new UAD, the extra data and other issues notwithstanding.

Say what you want, but I think conflating DW as being the male version of Joan Trice is absurd.
