Nobody Is Ready Yet For The UAD Crap

Is DW a real appraiser or just a bureaucrat out of touch with real appraiser practice?
 
all the appraisal propaganda, the lies, and hatred, come from those who dont do :rof:
 
Most appraisers are old but experienced and have gone through the changes brought about by GSEs.
Fees have not kept up with inflation and the new Abomination form is another insult to older appraisers.
I didn't sign up to be a bean counter in collecting data for GSEs. That's boring.

He's a real appraiser. I do not know him personally, just his posts in here. He appraised in the field and used to own a fee shop. He more than likely has answered some of your questions. If you use the search feature for questions on complex assignments you'll see his answers quite often. Over the years in here he has been very generous with his time by helping appraisers with difficult questions, he does not have to participate here, but he does. He's extremely competent and a very bright guy. I dislike Fannie Mae in many ways, but won't hold it against him because he works there. There are a lot of appraisers that work there, I personally know 2 appraisers that do, but I'm not blaming them for the UAD 3.6 either.

He seems to be a knowledgeable guy. I'll keep an eye if he posts in the future.
 
The reason for the Abomination form is to collect more data on properties in fine tuning their AVMs to be more accurate in determining value.
Thus GSEs know their current AVMs are not accurate enough and maybe limited to cookie cutters to replace appraisers for now.
That's the purpose of the PCR, image recognition, etc.?

Most of the time when after I see a property, I say to myself that AI can't do and see what I can.
Then again I don't do too many cookie cutters.

He ran his own residential fee shop for 25+ years (Wiley Group) and handles 1004s every day in his current gig. I strongly doubt you would fare well with him in a game of Appraiser Jeopardy. Neither would I.
