Natural sweetener erythritol linked to stroke risk

I didn’t say I use artificial sweeteners, I said I use stevia and monk fruit.
I was trying to tell you that many products that are labelled as Stevia and Monk Fruit ALSO contain artificial sweeteners - deceptive advertising - read the ingredients.
 
You haven't lived until you have had iced tea laced with this stuff!

Artificial sweeteners aren't a new concept. Note the process from which the first was discovered:

"Saccharin, discovered in 1879 by Constantin Fahlberg and Ira Remsen at Johns Hopkins University, was the first artificial sweetener. Although initially produced as a powder, it quickly became used in liquid form for beverages and was widely commercialized by the mid-1880s as a sugar substitute, particularly for diabetics.

Key details about the first liquid artificial sweetener:
  • Discovery: Accidentally found while researching coal tar derivatives.
  • Characteristics: It is 200 to 500 times sweeter than sugar.
  • Usage: Became popular during World Wars I and II due to sugar shortages.
  • Form: While originally a powder, it was readily available in liquid solutions for beverages in the early 20th century.
  • Other Early Sweeteners: Cyclamate (brand name Sucaryl) was later introduced in the 1950s as another popular liquid sweetener."
 
The fake sweeteners are nonsense like 0% alcohol. It's better to just go cold-turkey on sugar, corn syrup and the artificial sweeteners. It only takes the body about a week or two to adjust. Then even fruit like dates and mangos seem incredibly sweet (and are a better option with vitamins and fiber).

I put sugar made from maple syrup, and cinnamon on my oven-baked carrots; it's an aphrodisiac.
