It's pretty obvious the family disliked Tony. Sold the corner one and kept the middle one to make things difficult for Tony. Tony could buy the corner lot at 1504 from the new owner, but then he would still have a difficult-shaped lot for multi-family. If Tony is able to get the middle lot at 1506, but not the corner lot at 1504, then he would have more options.
