Literally starting over at 56 investment tips wanted

Some guy on Fox Business just said they expect the S&P to reach 20,000 by 2030. I believe him.

Put your money in an index fund like the one I have, it's cracking, and I figure it probably will for the remainder of the decade. Check it out, IYW, iShares US Tech fund.

I'm all ears bro I'm making a pals from AF small cap fund lol shoot me the symbol and I'll put it in the pot. I'll post updates on how it's doing when the thread dries up should be fun to follow along

A double from todays level in the S&P would match the secular bull market that resulted in the dot com bubble.

Just keep in mind where we could be in this secular bull market, and what comes after the end of the bull market.

After the 1985-2000 bull market, we had the dot com bust and the financial crisis before the next bull market.

It's actually a little bit more than a double.

The last bull market took it up 1,300%. So if this one is the same as last time (which it won't be), then it would top around 20,000. Then in a range between 20,000 and 10,000 for more than 10 years.

Anyone remember Big Ole Boy from Tennessee who used to post here? Ex MAI who got in Bitcoin very early, he was buying it back when it was 4 digits. He must own half of Tennessee now. BTW I know a lot of guys who wish they were starting over at 56.
I hope he's well, I enjoyed his posts and made some $$ trading in the early days. Wish I would have had the balls to go all in. And IIRC he traded alt coins and Ethereum too.

don't get involved
STDs are on the rise (20 million cases annually) with some 30% of women having one, genital herpes or Chlamydia being the most prevalent and surprisingly often in women over 40. Biologically, women are more prone to contracting it rather than it being a function of the number of partners. Interestingly, while people between 15 and 24 have about half of all cases, the fastest growing group are people over 60. Now if that won't wilt little willie, I don't know what it would take.

As for financial advice, my cousin was good but after he died (he was a CPA and Certified Financial Advisor), I shifted my IRA assets to a small group out of Little Rock and the guy took a modest risk mix of indexed funds that performed greatly then when I hit 70 took me into fixed rate low-risk funs. I am taking out less money annually than it makes and I may start taking out what it makes annually since someone is going to have to pay the taxes on it anyway.

As a oilfield oriented investor outside my IRA, it has been a tough last 10 years. The horizontal drilling craze means you have $7 million per well on average, meaning you need to NET 700,000 barrels of oil dollars at $70 oil and we've seen oil yo-yo between $40 - $100 for the past 10 years and natural gas isn't worth drilling. Remember that typically 20-25% of the oil money goes to royalties and maybe another 10-20% goes to lifting costs and transportation. So, a well has to lift 1,000,000 bbl of oil or the price has to be $100 to break even. Very few wells can produce a million barrels of oil. That's a pretty poor investment. A bunch of people then bought into the idea of lithium. They are buying leases in S. Arkansas and NE Oklahoma, lithium prospects in the West, etc. But technology could change overnight and lithium being replaced in batteries with something new...your lease could become worthless. OTOH, rare earths and precious metals are steady producers.

But seems to me, energy is key to all economic activity. These big AI data centers are huge consumers of energy. So, someone has to produce the energy they use. So, tell me how who and where you need to put your money. We have huge reserves of really cheap natural gas. "Clean" coal is a real option. Solar and wind do not seem to be able to fill that gap by itself. Is nuclear finally going to get their place in the sun? My crystal ball is dimmer than my eyes were before cataract surgery.
