I'm old enough to remember when you needed an appraisal license to perform field appraisal work.

I entered at 24 years old before licenses were even required and anyone could hang a shingle and declare they were a real estate appraiser. I did have a brokers license but it wasn't required to be an appraiser.

The GSEs require a license to sign on the left. Misrepresentation of license status is an offense in at least most states if not all states.

Unlicensed trainees (who don't sign the appraisal) are not uncommon in non-GSE work.

He doesn't know what he doesn't know and his experience is very narrow and mostly in the loan production world using GSE forms and Certifications.

Meh. I completely get the animosity exhibited toward some AMC's out there. They're trash. I just think invoking accusations of slavery on sites like LinkedIn is just inviting retaliation. That's just me tho.

Man, the false narrative around that list has been brutal. You know what that was, right? It was just the first six people who got put on that long list that JG posted above Yet, it got twisted into something it never was, and certain people like still point to that to assert some sort of special treatment for certain AMCs, even thought it has grown to the list I linked in a prior post. Hard to kill a good internet conspiracy theory.
