Doug,
That is why I love the Real Estate game, it is ever changing, I have been around for 20+ years in real estate, and learn everyday too. No, I'm not in Indy, on the east side of Indiana.

Update, I have gotten all my hours in and now am waiting for the AQB to approve my application. The next step (God willing they approve me) is to take the exam. Then get my hours in for my SRA. Also, I am going out on my own, my mentor closed his office down and is working from home, to save money (LOL). Thank God I was able to get my hours in first.

I will keep you all informed of my progress. Still think this is a great business to be in if you like change, and I do.

Just passed the exam, and now am a Certified Residential Appraiser, now have to get some business before my wife kills me. Its been a long three and half years. I know its a awfull time to be an appraiser, but things have to get better at some point. Thanks to all that have helped.

Brad

Its simple math, if you due 350 appraisals (which is not hard) you will gross 100K, besides, what expenses do you really have, a few thousand for e & O , MLS fees, paper, supplies, ect. Come on guys, our office does 800 to 1000 a year now. I am thinking I make more as a trainee than most of you do. I did 258 appraisals last year, (as a trainee) before you guys say anything, I type everything in, no can phases, and I dont copy old files in. I guess I just dont have a life cause I work on week ends and nights to get the file dones. so 100K is not a big deal in our office, not when my supervisor is making 200 to 300K. Dont you guys buy real estate too, thats another 40 to 100K in profit if bought right and sold for a profit.
