I would greatly appreciate feedback about the differences between the Appraisal Institute, Mckissock, and Calypso 7-Hour Online USPAP classes. Which have you preferred, and why? I would like to know if anyone has taken the 7-Hour USPAP Update from the Appraisal Institute and if you could complete this class in approximately 7 hours. When I took the online Appraisal Institute Business Practices and Ethics class, it seemed much more time-consuming than I expected, requiring essays, many quizzes, etc. I could not complete the AI Business Practices and Ethics class in the allotted 6 hours, which has not happened in the past with any other online educational providers and classes. I now worry the Appraisal Institute 7-Hour USPAP Class will be the same. I have had no problem finishing the McKissock 7-Hour USPAP Class in 7 hours. Thank you for any insights you have to offer.

Not sure how an extra hour would kill anyone. The intent is to learn something, not sit there for an exact number of minutes.

Theoretically, all the USPAP Update classes are the same-ish. USPAP instructors are required to teach the curriculum that is supplied to them. They can add content.. but they can't neglect content. The main differences are going to be how interesting the instructor is... do they move more quickly or more slowly... etc.

I will only take the McCis online web live class. Seems the least painful with no test. If you get that bored you can do some work while your cam is watching you, just put it higher up on the face. I do learn something most times. I think the last time, the web class was split into 2 part days, seemed more endurable to me.

By the time I take the update class, I have pretty much familiarized myself with the changes. So most classes live or otherwise bore me to tears

I'd been taking USPAP classes for decades. One day it will sink in.
In meantime, I have to waste hours of my life every two years.

You have been getting more exposure to the material and its applications here on this forum than you'll ever get from an update course.

One limitation with canned instruction is that they can usually only use one approach to convey the material and usually only one or two examples to illustrate. With live instruction or in long form discourse we can approach from multiple directions and rephrase multiple ways until we find one that resonates with the participant. Can connect more dots.

Calypso is the very best of the USPAP classes I've taken on line - McKissock so-so. Never took the AI courses or any AI course on line. Class room only
