You're certainly not alone in that opinion - our conversions from Bradford have tripled since September.

Feel free to join our weekly "Switching from Clickforms" webinars. The next one is this Tuesday, March 4th.

I sent Bradford technical support the log from the free text use access violation.

IMO, the Alamode market share increase is probably based upon the special pricing and 10 year guarantee. That's a pretty good offer, but a 5 year guarantee would be more realistic sounding since Chrysler, Hyundai, Kia's use of the 10 year thing have me wondering, since Honda & Toyota, Acura & Lexus don't bother with that pitch.

I don't doubt the sincerity, just making the comment that very long commitments can outlive a business, let alone, an appraiser's career:laugh:

Our pricing really hasn't changed that much when you factor in all the discounts that we consistently offered throughout the year. As a result, the 10 year guarantee at $349 - including our TOTAL software, Silver-level support, maps, data, UAD, mobile tools, and more - was an easy decision to make.

We don't believe it will outlive the business. In fact, we take it a step further by buying out appraisers' contracts with their current vendors when they make the switch and still offer a 100 day money-back guarantee. We're that confident in the system and the continuity of the profession, and we'll continue to lead the fight for appraisers whenever that continuity is threatened (as we always have).

Tech support emailed me back with a couple possible solutions. Apparently there are a few reports, but not wide spread. I will try them out after I ship the next report.

I got an invitation to call a special number for live support if the suggested cures don't work. I don't pay for live support, so that was a nice offer.

When I get a chance, I'll report back with details/results.

Anyone else with this issue? Or apparently, just a few of us?

I am running W7 in a VM (Parallels on a Mac). It has been rock solid.

I have also had a problem. I have not bothered to email Bradford. Maybe next time as it is happening on a daily basis lately. I am also running the newest version.

I've used Free Text with no problems with 8.1.7.

System is Microsoft Windows 7 Professional and a regular computer (my computer guys builds them-this one is about a year old and is fast).

They sent me a link to a beta revision, but I won't be able to guinea pig it until tomorrow night.

OK, I installed the beta 8.2.0, something like that:)

The free text errors I was getting pretty much every time with the 8.1.7? version did not happen with a half dozen attempts to generate an error, writing over imported graphics, etc.

It's probably fixed. I'll do a report tonight on the new version & see if anything is out of order, but I doubt it. Clickforms is generally rock solid with the main form set.

Besides, I backed up my VM image before the install, so it is a no sweat 30 second operation to change back EVERYTHING.

8.1.7 here. Just tried the free form text and locked the program up. Haven't used it in quite some time. Won't be using it for quite some time it looks like.

Updates to 8.2 and free form text works good now
