I think the real issue is that Anthropic employers are revolting about working with the Dept. of War. As they should be.

Anthropic saying their products cannot be used for "mass domestic surveillance" and "fully autonomous weapons" doesn't seem like an outrageous ask.

tl;dr, he wants to use the power of the state to squelch Chinese competition just like what was done with their excelent EVs and 5G routing equipment.

Supposedly they didn't like the new line of autonomous weapons development and Anthropic's use in them or something , whatever. I think xAI signed a massive contract recently they will step in the fill the void
