I have used other appraisal software for last 5 years and very happy with it.
But a couple clients insisted on devilery the reports using ACI or Lighthouse Format.

I tried to work around by purchase the Lighthouse from ACI to convert files to ACI format for delivery. This peace of junk (Lighthouse) causes me many problems during conversion of report files from other appraisal software. The problems range from missing some information in pages to some pages just disappeared or blank-out (platmap page becomes blank, photo page mixed up, photo transfered in to wrong frame).

Up to the point, I can't afford wasting time to re-create/edit the mess made by Lighthouse, I am thinking to buy the ACI (not because I like ACI, IMHO the ACI program is the worst among DayOne, Wintotal, Bradford and ACI). I am stuck with this dillema, because I need works from these clients in this slow time. As soon as I can get away from these clients' requirement I will get rid of ACI immediately.....

Could anyone tell me how much I expect to pay for one license and any minimal/necessary sevices to create a report then send the ACI format files to client ? I think I need location map, eService ???? I don't think I need etract, flood map etc ...

I still don't know why some clients prefered ACI format file ... is it easy for them to do THINGS with my reports ? such as running some basic error check and what else ????? someone ... please open my eyes with some inside-tract info ?

Just pay attention to the connections.

And let me guess - those CLIENTS - are AMC's

I've never used ACI. I've used several other competitors and there are only TWO that I actively speak against - One DAY locked my main office computer up for over a week with constant promises of a tech calling tomorrow and I would use it again and the other one had this new windows operating program that suddenly did HYPER math calculations and randomly adjusted my report FORMS without me knowing about it - I'll NEVER use them again. Neither one offered, nor accepted my demand to speak with a supervisor, for a refund/adjustment/correction of fees!

Follow Pam's link and then think about it! I won't go any further with my comments except to say, it's your "career" and I'm close enough to "retirement" age that I will fight for the good of the profession but will not slap anyone around unless they "OPENLY advertise it", which BTW, seems to be the coming thing now - work with the competitors rather than the group you're a member of (or supposed to be)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the basic cost is around $600, w/ 90 days of support.

It costs about $1,000 to start

Looks like $399 to get started with 90 day supports http://aciweb.com/p_aci.asp plus $199 a year for the eServices you need to send reports directly to the clients. Support is $395 a year http://aciweb.com/serviceplans.asp for them to tell you to Read the Fricken Manual so hold off on that until you NEED to get a software update.

A cost of $399 only gives me the ACI software form feeder, $199 for eServives... to make it alive (useful), a integrated sketch program (Apex) $179.00 and a location map (MS Mappoint) $99.00 are needed. Further along the line I may need Flood Map ....

If I stick with Lighthouse, it will be a $299 fee for annual renewal ... Anyone is using Lighthouse ? pros and cons ??????? what was I doing wrong when using Lighthouse or this program is a real piece of junk ?????
