Does the ACI sketch program have a setting that is based on ANSI increments?

I will assume you have ACI and have been using it. How have you been entering your dimensions up until now?
I can use the keystroke-based dimension but prefer to use the Etch-a-Sketch-like manual mode, which usually ends up with a dimension such as 25.34 although now I would prefer a manual alternative to only applies increments of .10 inch, if that is the ANSI standard.

25.34 - that's 1/100 of a foot or 0.12 inches, more than sufficient for ANSI. That's what my Leica X4 returns for me (but it does have different options). That's what I use in Chief Architect (that too has different options).

-- Rounding is not necessary - especially if you like to use accurate measurements to get at wall thickness and find problems.

Yes, however, the 25.34 isn't meant to be 25.34, per se. I just can't ever seem to get a measurement to the foot, or the half-foot, correct when I try to do so manually using the mouse.

I think the ACI sketch is Rapidsketch. If it is, you can change the type of measurement on the lower righthand of the software.

? Doesn't Apex actually have a setting for 1 foot, .5 foot, and .1 foot? I've not used it in 15 years or so, but I thought it did that just like Winsketch does (BTW, I am still using my 20 year old copy of Winsketch.) It works as good as ever, so I never upgraded although my assistant had Apex until she went to work for me and I used it a few times then.

25.34 is supposed to mean 25 34/100 feet rounded to the nearest 1/100 foot.

12 inches/100 = 0.12 inches or about 1/8 inch.

So, 25.34' should be accurate to about 1/8 of an inch.

When I set up my wall defaults in Chief Architect, with different layers (e.g. 2x4 or 2x6 studs, exterior coating =stucco, house wrap, OSB, Drywall) thickness is usally to the 1/16".

Here is one I created for the Fairmont, Pacifica neighborhood:

ACI Sketch can do measurements by foot, half-foot, and inches. I've transitioned smoothly to measuring to the inch and have gotten quite comfortable with it. (I must add that I find my measurements have gotten more accurate using this method than when I was using the "half-foot" setting and rounding. Live and learn. ) ;)

At the bottom of ACI Sketch, I changed my settings to the following:

I am not sure if this is ANSI, but it is the best I could do with their available tools. I am writing this a day before the requirement is inacted, so we shall see.
