Advice on website

Most likely not! I had one web address that worked that worked very well if some searched for a Charlotte Appraiser. Then it didn't anymore because Google and Yelp and other web site managers Forget Google ...Yelp OTH can tailor your ad for you business. They are more designed for Retail Store Front location. Problem with yelp is it can be expensive. One other major problem as an appraiser on yelp is reviews. One bad review and you are toast.
Here is your best way to get business. Social Networking belonging to Community Organizations like the below:
What are community-based organizations?
  • The American Legion.
  • The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
  • The Fraternal Order of Eagles.
  • Kiwanis International.
  • Knights of Columbus.
  • Lions Clubs International
  • Optimist Club
  • etc
  • etc
I use to belong to the Optimist Club. My name got out there because the men in that org, were business owners etc

I had a hyper local brokerage name and I only got work bc of that name selling homes.

domain names and websites are pretty cheap. For a time I had several websites I created on Godaddy. Each one had a different name based on the area I want to appraise in. Each was names after a different section of philadelphia. I got enough work to more than pay for each site. I then advertised these sites on Craigslist. Grab photos of the area from online and use them on each site. I picked areas with cookie cutter easy to appraise properties. Or you can have the many domain names simply point back to your main website is you want. I opted to create sites for each domain name.

Why didn't you keep them? Were they no longer beneficial?

I left appraising for the most part last year. They were good sites, more than paid for themselves, but not enough to make the income I need to keep me in the industry. The reality is not many homeowners are thinking hmm I want an appraisal. So I figure I got about 5-10 a year from each of them. Not much, but way worth the small time and cost investment in setting the sites up. Plus I did nothing other than advertise them on craigslist. Probably could have contacted real estate brokerages in those areas, but it was a fine line since I am also an agent. I think the domain name was like 99 cents for a year.

After looking around a good while I settled on a Jimdo website. Really user friendly which I did with help of chatgpt and free AI images or code it from scratch if you want. Total setup, hosting, domain registration, SEO, email $102 for the first year and looks much cleaner and professional than any Xsite I had.
