so IG, FB TT and goog don't passively listen to what you say/search/type unless you specifically go into each app and find where they bury the setting to turn off? and Target doesn't have trackers on their baskets that use your phones bt to see where you are in the store and Walmart doesn't know where/when you are in their stores and dynamically change their prices via digital price tags? hell, I have 10 gb of amazon data alone which isn't even what they really have bc I didn't follow through with the 2nd step bc I just don't care anymore. lastly, 2017 WL exposed the gov can use your home devices to spy on you which appear to be off when they need to know bad enough. What do your writings say?

Regardless of the agreement you signed, you are still responsible for producing it in the event you are required to do so. Its a no excuses type of thing. And keep it confidential.

Regulator’s call. Documentation of the incident would be a consideration. It would be on the regulator to follow up on that documentation. I had many licensees “claim” the file was somehow lost due to a bad hard drive/flood/fire/stolen (yes, someone told me their workfile was stolen). My standard response was for them to provide a signed affidavit of what happened and to replicate the workfile as best they could. Surprisingly, most licensees miraculously found their work file.

As I noted before, loss of your work file puts you at a considerable disadvantage to defend your report so it is in a licensees best interest to have redundancy.

FTR, a workfile violation is rather low level and generally an add on to other violations.
